SALISBURY, N.C. - Both of the Guilford College cross country squads competed in the Livingstone XC Challenge hosted by Livingstone College on Friday morning, seeing Piper Campbell (Wilmington, N.C.) and Yassine Aallam (Holly Springs, N.C.) both secure a top-10 finish in their respective races and the men's team finished third as a team at the Salisbury Community Park.

A four-team field factored into the scoring for both the men's and women's races with the hosting Blue Bears topping the team standings in the men's competition followed by Winston-Salem State University and GC. The men completed a 7850m race, while the women ran a full 5K. The field included runners from NCAA Division-II, III, and Junior College institutions, as well as unattached competitors.

On the women's side, Campbell had a sensational day, running a season-best time of 23:44.53 on her way to a second top-ten in her last three competitions, claiming 10th out of 28 competitors. Alyssa Daniel (Spring Lake, N.C.) was not far off, earning a 15th place finish with her time of 25:45.74.

Aallam was the top finisher on the men's side, earning claiming ninth place out of 27 runners, with a time of 29:45.10. Jeremy Harway (Apex, N.C.) narrowly missed a third Quaker top-10 finish, running a time of 30:09.36 to take 11th. Trenten Torain (Durham, N.C.) and Tkwon Davis (Warren County, N.C.) finished among the top-20, going 17th and 19th, with times of 32:58.62 and 33:36.21 respectively. Rounding out the Guilford scorers was, Ke'Shaun Alston (Warrenton, N.C.) who finished 23rd with a time of 35:32.54 ahead of JC Yañez (Thomasville, N.C.) and his time of 41:01.42 for a 27th place finish.

The Quakers hit the course next on Saturday, November 1st when they compete in the ODAC Championship hosted by Bridgewater College in Forest, Va. Start time for the men's race is 10:00 AM before the women's race has an 11:00 AM start.
