The Quakers started out hot with three-straight goals with two from Morse and another from Andrew Burch. The Marlins tried to match the Quaker's goals but Joe Hirvonen scored to settle the pace of the game. From there, Guilford was able to score three more goals before the end of the quarter. Gabe Alvarez and Gavin Brown joined the scoring party with their own goals.
Guilford started the second quarter the same way as the first with three more goals. Morse scored a man-up goal with Seth Woods and Brown also scoring to make it a 10-3 game. For the rest of the half, the Marlins and the Quakers traded goals to make the score 12-5 at the break.
To start the third quarter, the Marlins came out firing scoring their own three-straight goals. This run was put to a halt by Brown with another goal of his own. Virginia Wesleyan was able to cut the Quaker lead in the third by closing the period with two goals to trail by four, 15-11.
Morse kept his day going with a goal to start out the fourth quarter. The Marlins were able to match that goal but that was not enough to stop the Quakers or Devin Morse from scoring.
