The newly 11th-ranked Guilford College men's basketball team traveled to Raleigh to face William Peace University. A 32-2 run spanning halftime by the Quakers led to an 80-62 victory.

Tyler Dearman led the way for Guilford (5-0) with 35 points. Dearman also finished with seven rebounds and five assists.

To start the contest, GC scored the opening six points with four off the hand of Dearman. William Peace (3-4) battled back and stayed within striking distance. Trailing 18-14, the Pacers hit back-to-back threes to capture the 20-18 edge with 13:30 left in the first.

The Quakers tied the game multiple times but a 5-0 run pushed the hosts ahead by four (32-28). Guilford took control of the game over the final six-plus minutes and ended the half on a 16-2 run. Julius Burch scored five as Rob Littlejohn added four points. At the break, the visitors led 44-34.

In the opening five minutes of the second half, the Quakers continued their run as they dropped 16-unanswered points to go ahead by 26 (60-34).
