The Guilford College women's volleyball team welcomed the Pacers of William Peace University to Ragan-Brown Field House. The Quakers fell to the Pacers, 3-0.

In the opening set, Guilford (2-2) won five of the first six points. William Peace (5-0) battled and drew even with the Quakers at six but GC responded. Guilford won 10 of the next 11 points including three aces off the hand of Amber Chiarolanzio.

Trailing 16-7, the Pacers used runs of their own capped off by an 8-0 run to go ahead 24-20. After a Quaker point, the visitors closed out the set with a kill, 25-21.

The second set was William Peace heavy to start and it opened a 7-3 edge. Guilford cut the deficit to two (10-8) before the Pacers doubled up the hosts, 20-10. The Quakers slowly climbed back into the set but the gap was too large as they fell 25-18.

In the third, it was all William Peace from the onset. At one point, the Pacers led by 14 (17-3) and eventually went on to win 25-9 and claimed the match.

Maddi Page finished the evening with 23 assists and 11 digs. Paige McDonald led the Quakers with six kills.

Guilford travels to Lexington, Virginia for the Washington and Lee Invitational on Friday, September 9. Match one is against Southern Virginia at 2:00 p.m.
