The Guilford College women's volleyball team concluded its two-day road trip in Ashland, Virginia as it faced Randolph-Macon College. The Quakers claimed the first set but fell to the Yellow Jackets, 3-1.
The opening set was tightly contested with both teams' largest leads being three points. Guilford tried to open a lead but Randolph-Macon kept the score even until kills by
Natalie Moore and
Vanessa Johnson opened the game, 19-16. The Quakes held the advantage through the end of the set to win, 25-22.
The Yellow Jackets took the early advantage in the second set and never looked back. The hosts held a lead of eight until it won the final four points to win, 25-12.
The third and fourth sets were similar to the second as Randolph-Macon grasped the lead and never let go. R-MC won by scores of 25-9 and 25-16.
Paige McDonald tallied seven kills while Moore and Johnson had six and five, respectively.
Maddi Page led the team with 23 assists as
Lydia Saunders totaled 11 digs.
Guilford (2-11, 0-4) returns to Ragan-Brown Field House for a conference match with the Generals of Washington and Lee University. Start time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
