The Guilford College men's tennis team traveled to Virginia Wesleyan University for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup with the Marlins. The Quakers fell in the match, 7-2.
In doubles, No. 1 (
Evan Wong/
Drake Schreiber) and No. 2 (
Jay Montague/
Tye Sasser) dou-bles both fell by the score of 8-3.
Andrew Ferris and
Dominik Pocrnja dropped at No. 3 doubles, 8-2.
In singles action, Montague was bested in his match in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-2. Ferris (No. 3), Wong (No. 4) and Sasser (No. 5) each fell in their respective matches. Schreiber picked up the first win for the Quakers with scores of 5-7, 7-5, and 10-6.
Pocrnja also won his match at sixth singles, dropping the first set (6-3) before claiming the final two sets, 7-6 (7-3) and 10-7.
Guilford wraps up the regular season on Saturday, April 23 at Randolph-Macon comes to campus. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
