The Guilford College men's tennis team made the trip to Fayetteville, North Carolina to face Methodist University. The Quakers fell to the Monarchs, 6-3.
In doubles, the team of
Drake Schreiber and
Evan Wong fell at first doubles (8-0).
Jay Montague and
Tye Sasser also fell at second doubles, 8-2.
Dominik Pocrnja and
Andrew Ferris picked up the first victory for GC, 8-5.
At No. 1, Montague went down in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-2. Schreiber won at No. 2 by scores of 7-5 and 6-4. Ferris and Wong fell in their matches by scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-4, 6-3, respectively.
Sasser was in a tightly contested match at No. 5 but went down, 7-5 and 7-5. Pocrnja notched the other win for the Quakers with scores of 7-5 and 6-3.
Guilford (7-6) will host Randolph-Macon on Saturday, April 16 for Senior Day. Start time is 1:00 p.m.
