The Guilford College women's tennis traveled to Shenandoah University in the first Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup of the year. The Quakers fell to the Hornets, 5-0.
Midway through the match, rain began to fall and after some waiting, both teams decided to move the remainder of the match indoors and play until a decision was made.
In doubles action, the pairing of
Madyson Schreiber and
Hannah Pardue fell in straight sets.
Jolie Nhouyvanisvong and
Bea Niyibizi were defeated in second doubles, 8-1. The team of
Nya Reed and
Nili Ocran were taken down in third doubles, 8-2.
The other final two matches took place in first and third singles. Schreiber fell 6-0, 6-1 while Nhouyvanisvong dropped sets of 6-0, 6-0, respectively.
The Quakers will travel to Ferrum on Tuesday, March 8 in a makeup from the original matchup that was scheduled for February 27. Start time is set for 3:00 p.m.
