The Guilford College men's tennis faced Shenandoah University in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup. The Quakers picked up their second ODAC win of the year, 5-2.
Midway through the match, rain began to fall and after some waiting, both teams decided to move the remainder of the match indoors and play until a decision was made.
In doubles action, the pairing of
Drake Schreiber and
Evan Wong fell 8-1.
Andrew Ferris and
Dominik Pocrnja had a strong showing in third doubles, 8-1. At second doubles,
Jay Montague and
Tye Sasser were pushed to the brink but were victorious, 8-7 (16-14).
In singles, Schrebier was taken down 6-3 and 6-0. Wong bounced back and captured fourth singles, 6-3 and 6-0.
At second singles,
Jay Montague picked up the fourth win for GC in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-1. After dropping the first set in third pairing, 6-4, Ferris claimed the second and third sets with scores of 6-2 and 6-1.
The Quakers will host Randolph on Saturday, March 12. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
