The Guilford College women's lacrosse team faced Hollins University in a non-conference showdown. The Quakers scored early and often, winning 26-2.
Sydne Sawyer scored the first goal of the game just 50 seconds in. From there, Guilford (4-5) scored eight more goals to go ahead 9-0. Hollins (0-4) got on the board at the 7:10 mark of the first before GC scored five more goals to lead 14-1 at the end of the first.
In the second, the Quakers added four goals before Hollins netted its second goal of the game. At the half, Guilford led 18-2.
GC scored four goals in the third and fourth periods to seal the win.
Eight different Quakers scored a goal with
Maggie Hartnett leading the way with nine goals and four assists. Sawyer finished with eight points (3G, 5A) while
Kylie Horn added seven points (6G, 1A).
Guilford will host Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, April 2 in a conference matchup. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
