The Guilford College men's tennis team hosted Pfeiffer University on a breezy Sunday afternoon. The Quakers came out on top, 6-3.
At first doubles,
Drake Schreiber and
Evan Wong fell 8-6.
Jay Montague and
Tye Sasser were pushed to the brink but came out victorious, 8-7, winning the tiebreaker 7-3. The team of
Dominik Pocrnja and
Andrew Ferris picked up the win at third doubles, 8-2.
Schreiber dropped his first singles match, 6-3 and 6-4. Montague was in another tightly contested match but won 7-5 and 7-6 (7-2). After dropping the first set in third singles, Ferris bounced back and won the final two sets, 6-2 and 6-0.
Wong and
Drew Clark won their respective matches in straight sets to secure the victory for the Quakers.
Guilford (6-3) will host Lynchburg on Saturday, April 2. Start time is set for 2:00 p.m.
