The Bombers were not able to score in the first nor the second inning. As the bottom of the third came around, Guilford expanded its lead. Katey Griswold scored as Caitlyn Ray hit a single and Kassidy Lancos advanced to third. Lancos was able to score when Hill grounded out.

Lauren Bowman hit a single down the right field line which caused Ray to score, 4-0. Next at bat, Ally Coker did a pinch run and was able to advance to second on a wild pitch. Coker capped off the scoring in the inning off a double by Shiloh Gray.

In the bottom of the sixth, Grace Calus doubled to the right center and moved Duarte to thrid. Next at bat, Griswold reached on a bunt single to load the bases. Griswold advanced to second and Calus advanced to third as Lancos reached on a fielder's choice.

Ray was able to hit a sacrifice fly to right field which sent Calus home. With the bases loaded once more, Lauren Bowman was hit by a pitch plating Griswold for the final run of the game.

In the top of the seventh, Ithaca got the first two runners on base with a walk and an error but Gray did not waver in the circle. The freshman forced a fly out and a pop out that resulted in a double play to preserve the victory and her no-hitter.

Gray pitched all seven innings, with three walks, two hit by pitch but striking out six in the shutout.

Game 2: Guilford 9, Ithaca 7

The Quakers wasted little time scoring in the second game as Hill put the first run on the board when Bowman singled to center. In the top of the second, Ithaca answered with a run of its own to tie the game.

In the bottom of the second, Guilford kept its  momentum from game one as it added six runs. With Lancos on first, Griswold on third and Calus on second,  Ray came in to hit a double sending Griswold and Calus home, 3-0.

Following those two runs, Lancos was able to make it home as Hill hit a single through the right side. During that hit, Ray advanced to third. Hill stole second and on the throw, Ray broke for home and was safe. Casey Bunting then lifted one over the left field wall to put GC ahead 7-1.

The visitors scored once more in the top of the third but Guilford notched two more runs as Bunting doubled to center field causing Hill and Ray to score, 9-2.
