The Guilford College women's tennis team faced Hollins University in conference play. The Quakers were victorious, 6-3.
In doubles, Hollins (2-5, 0-3) claimed the first and third pairings but the team of
Jolie Nhouyvanisvong and
Bea Niyibizi won at second doubles, 8-1.
At first singles,
Madyson Schreiber fell by the scores of 6-3 and 6-4.
Hannah Pardue got the next Guilford (2-4, 2-1) win by straight sets, 6-4 and 7-5.
Nhouyvanisvong and
Nili Ocran won their respective matches in straight sets.
Nya Reed fell in the first set at fourth singles, 6-3, but bounced back and won the final two, 7-6 and 6-2. The last Quaker win came off the racket of
Jessica Fuentes. Fuentes dropped the first set 6-4 but came back and won sets two and three, 7-5 and 6-0.
Guilford hosts Randolph on Sunday, March 13 to face the WildCats. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
