The Guilford College women's basketball took on Ferrum College in road conference matchup. Behind Ashtyn Zeigler and Lindsay Gauldin, the Quakers scored a season-high 89 points to top the Panthers, 89-63.

Zeigler led all scorers with 21 points as she went 9-14 from the field and a perfect 3-3 from long distance. Gauldin added 20 points with eight rebounds, six assists and four assists. 

In the first period, Guilford (4-7, 2-4) opened the game by scoring the first five points. Ferrum (4-10, 2-5) cut the deficit to three (8-5) with 6:38 on the clock. GC extended its lead back to five and ended the first quarter on an 11-2 run to lead 26-11.

The second period preceded with both teams exchanging makes. Neither team put together a significant run as the Quakers extended their lead by two to lead 46-29 at the half.

Guilford repeated its performance from the first period in the third as it out scored the Panthers 24-11 to lead by 30 (70-30) going to the final 10 minutes of regulation.

Ferrum had its best performance in the fourth but the difference was too large. GC held on for the 26-point win.

The Quakers shot 62.5-percent from the field and only missed nine free throws (21-30) and four thee-point shots (8-12). GC also grabbed 41 rebounds compared to 34 for the Panthers.

Guilford welcomes Shenandoah University on Saturday, January 15. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
