HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The hosts were able to put up 21 unanswered points in the first quarter.

  • Quarter two started off a little more exciting as Da'Juan Lockhart was able to intercept a Generals' touchdown attempt at the goal line and return it to the Guilford 11-yard line as the clock read 14:14.

  • Despite the Quakers' best efforts, they trailed 49-0 at the half.

  • Washington and Lee was able to post another score to extend its lead to 56-0 halfway through the third quarter.

  • It was a 16-yard pass from Bailey Baker to Tre Alexander that put Guilford on the board and denied W&L the shutout. The extra point attempt by Burke Nettles was good to make it 56-7.
