Greensboro, N.C. -- The Guilford College men's basketball team welcomed the Pfeiffer University Falcons to conclude the 2021 calendar. The Quakers defeated the Falcons, 95-60.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ

Tyler Dearman got the scoring underway with a layup and a three-point shot to give the Quakers an early 5-0 advantage.Â

Pfeiffer cut the deficit to one (8-7) before Guilford went on a 10-1 run to lead 18-8 at the 12:24 mark in the first half.

The Falcons scored the next five but a Liam Ward jumper ended the run.

GC closed the first half by out scoring Pfeiffer 30-17 and leading 50-30 as the halftime horn sounded.

The Quakers continued their momentum in the second half as they scored the opening 12 points to lead 62-30 with 15:32 left in regulation.

From that point forward, Guilford did not look back and secured the 35-point victory.
LEADING THE QUAKES

Ward led the way once again with a game-high 23 points. Ward also recorded his third double-double of the season as he grabbed 11 rebounds.

Dearman added 16 points as he went 6-for-8 from the field.

Jorden Davis and Caleb Farrish were the other two players to finish in double digits with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
COMPARING NUMBERS

Guilford shot an incredible 55-percent (33-60) from the field while Pfeiffer was 39.1-percent (18-46) from the field.

The Quakers also held serve from distance making 10 of their 19 three-point attempts. The Falcons struggled, going 5-for-21 from long range.

GC also won the battle on the boards as it out rebounded Pfeiffer, 40-20.

Guilford is set to host the Averett University Cougars on Monday, January 3. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
