HOW IT HAPPENED

Guilford started the contest with a 76 yard kickoff return by Kamari Norman down to the Ferrum 17 yard line. Despite a pair of incomplete passes, carries by Bailey Baker and Paulie Menegay were good enough to cover the distance to the goal. Menegay put GC's first tally on the board at 12:47 on a 5 yard rush, while Burke Nettles was successful on the extra point attempt to make it 7-0.

Despite not scoring on the first of its drives, the hosts scored on their next three to close out the first quarter with a 21-7 advantage.

The Quakers opened the second half with a 27 yard field goal by Nettles to come within 11 (21-10). Ferrum responded with a four play drive that spanned 90 yards to extend its lead to 18 points.

Guilford understood the assignment, also posting a score on a six yard reception by James Rice to make it 28-16 after a failed two-point conversion attempt.

The pair continued to trade touchdowns, as FC scored with 1:20 remaining on the board and Guilford closed out the half's scoring with a Jordan Johnson receiving score to make it 35-29 at the half.

GC again opened the scoring in the third stanza as Tre Alexander converted on a 69 yard reception from Baker to make it a one possession contest after a made extra point by Nettles.

The Panthers posted the next three touchdowns to own a 57-29 lead late into the fourth quarter.

Guilford owned the last score of the contest, as Alexander pulled off a 44 yard reception to make it 57-35 with 2:23 left on the clock.

GC had a mark of 67 percent on fourth down efficiency, 2-of-3 on the attempt.

The Quakers had one punt return for 27 yards and six kickoff returns of 134 yards.
TOP PERFORMING QUAKERS

Quarterback Bailey Baker was 22-for-36 on the completion, throwing for 353 yards and four touchdowns. Baker's longest completion was to Tre Alexander for a score.

Alexander led the Quakers in the air with six receptions for 164 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The senior averages 27.3 yards per catch.

Leading his squad on the ground was rookie Paulie Menegay with his 14 carries for 26 yards and one touchdown.

Perfect on the extra point attempt and on a field goal, Burke Nettles contributed five points to the scoreboard.

Milad Aghaiepour was strong on defense, leading the squad with nine tackles on seven solo and two assisted. Aghaiepour has 1.5 tackles for loss, adding up to 10 yards.

Also strong on the other side of the ball Alex Manley and Devin Satterfield posted matching tallies of tackles, compiling six on four solo and two assisted.

Cade Ratliff had four punts for 133 yards.

Leading on the kickoff return, Kamari Norman had one return for 76 yards. The Quakers lone punt return was owned by Caleb Gibson on his 27 yard carry.
