Emory & Henry Claims 9-0 Women's Tennis Win at Guilford

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Visiting Emory & Henry College earned its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's tennis win Saturday with a 9-0 triumph at Guilford College.

The Wasps improved to 4-8 (1-5 ODAC) with the win, while Guilford drops to 1-10 (0-7 ODAC).

Emory & Henry set the tone early with a pair of 8-0 wins at first and second doubles. Tessa Johnston and Katie Meade blanked the Quakers' Makayla McLaurin and Brooklyn Hopkins at first doubles. Bri Pierce and Kala Curtis had the same outcome at second doubles versus Guilford's Olivia La Ganza and Natalie Whitmeyer.

Meade downed McLaurin at first singles, 6-0, 6-1, and Johnston stopped Hopkins at second singles, 6-2, 6-1. The closest singles match was the pro-set match at sixth singles where Kelsey Holt claimed an 8-6 win over Guilford's Megan Kimpel.
