GREENSBORO, N.C. – Visiting Washington and Lee University cruised to a 9-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's tennis victory at Guilford College Sunday. The Generals, ranked 16th in the current Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division III Rankings, dropped just four games to improve to 8-0 (7-0 ODAC).
Brooke Donnelly, ranked third in the ITA Division III South Region Rankings, led the way with straight-set wins at first singles and first doubles. She posted a 6-0, 6-1 win over Guilford's Katie Claggett and teamed with Mary Hampton McNeal for an 8-1 triumph over Claggett and Leigh Fishman at first doubles. Hampton McNeal was another two-time winner as she added a 6-0, 6-0, second-singles win over Nora Prokosch.
Guilford's Prokosch and Chandler MacDonald won a team-high two games in their 8-2 second-singles setback to Lily Horsley and Rachel Hicks.
Coach Dave McCain's Quakers (1-4, 0-2 ODAC) play at league-rival Hollins University Friday (3/10) at 3:30 p.m. in a match rescheduled from March 3.
