SALEM, Va. – Courtney McCartin and Katie Clements scored four goals apiece in Roanoke College's 18-7 victory over visiting Guilford College Tuesday in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Lacrosse Tournament quarterfinal.

Claire Feeney added two goals and an assist for the fourth-seeded Maroons (9-8), who advance to a semifinal game Saturday with top-seeded Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. The fifth-seeded Quakers end their season with a 7-10 overall record.

Roanoke held a 4-3 lead midway through the first half after Guilford's Amanda Dionne scored off a Carter MacLeod assist, but the Maroons closed the half on a 5-1 run that featured two of McCartin's three first-half goals.

Guilford's Demming Carlow opened the second-half scoring with consecutive tallies that made it a 9-6 contest early in the period. The Maroons answered with seven straight scores, including each of Meredith Bigelow's three goals, which put the game out of reach with 12 minutes left in regulation.

Claire Feeney, Jenn Schwechheimer and Allison Beames each scored twice for Roanoke, which held a 33-24 edge in shots. Feeney added a game-high six assists for eight points. She also picked up 10 draw controls, which helped the hosts hold a decisive 21-3 edge in the key statistic of possession. Victoria Smith and Emma Blair split the game in goal, with Smith recording seven of Roanoke's 10 saves in the first half.
