GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sveva Mazzari won at first singles and first doubles in Emory & Henry College's 7-2 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's tennis win at Guilford College Saturday.
Mazzari overcame windy conditions to claim a 6-2, 6-0 singles win over the Quakers' Katie Claggett and teamed with Savanna Summers for an 8-1 doubles triumph over Claggett and Riley Caruana.
Summers also won her singles match with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph over Caruana at third singles.
Kaitlin Meade and Ana -Belen Gamez edged Nora Prokosch and Chandler MacDonald at third doubles, 8-6. Meade topped Luci Gordon, 8-2, in sixth singles.
Fernanda Gonzalez won twice for the Quakers. She teamed with Leigh Fishman for an 8-3 second doubles win and topped Gomez at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Coach Dave McCain's Quakers (4-5, 3-4 ODAC) visit league power Washington and Lee University Sunday (4/3) at 12 noon.
