Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. – Madeline Wilson and Nicolette Crisalli scored three goals apiece in Catholic University of Amerca's 21-7 lacrosse win at Guilford College Sunday.
Catholic is ranked 15th in this week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association NCAA Division III Poll.
The Cardinals (2-0), coming off a season-opening win over two-time defending NCAA Division III champion Salisbury University, showed no signs of a letdown versus the Quakers (1-2). They raced to an 11-1 lead midway through the first half on the strength of Crisalli's three scores and two by Wilson. Anna Stumme tallied both of her goals within the game's first three minutes and Catholic held a 14-3 halftime lead.
Lindsay Brophy scored one goal and had four assists for Catholic, which had 12 different goal scorers. Wilson, who added two assists, also finished with a game-high five points. Clair Schmitzer, Alexis Bosilovic, Elizabeth McCooey and Laura Dunn each scored twice. Bosilovic collected a game-high nine draw controls and also had an assist. Tricia Pehnke played the game's first 38:28 in goal for Catholic and made three saves. Teammate Brittnee Frizol made two stops in the remaining time. The Cardinals outshot Guilford, 31-12, and won 20 of the game's 29 draw controls.
Guilford's Kira Buss and Eleanora Keene paced the Quakers' offense with two goals apiece. Taylor Campellone added a goal and an assist. Keene also won six draws and had two ground balls. Sarah Sedaghat went the distance in goal and made four saves, plus a team-high four ground balls.
