BLUEFIELD, Va. – Guilford College's women's tennis team scored a 7-2 road win at NAIA-member Bluefield College Sunday.
The Quakers (6-9) dropped two of the three doubles points, but rallied to win all six singles contests. The victory snapped Guilford's three-match losing streak.
Fernanda Gonzalez was the lone two-time winner for Guilford. She teamed with Forest Melcher for an 8-4 win over the Rams' Pip Pattison and Tory Doyle at third doubles. Gonzalez won the third-singles match by virtue of her 6-0, 6-1 win over Bluefield's Sierra Queen.
Coach Dave McCain's team visits Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival Randolph-Macon College Monday (4/14) in a match rescheduled from last month.
