GREENSBORO, N.C. – Visiting Roanoke College claimed a 9-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's tennis win at Guilford College Friday afternoon. The Maroons improve to 2-0 (1-0 ODAC) on the young season, while the Quakers slip to 2-2 (1-1 ODAC).

The Maroons took an early 3-0 lead by sweeping all three doubles matches. Roanoke dropped just six games in the three contests, including four at second doubles where Kristen McDowell and Emma Barker defeated Guilford's Fernanda Gonzalez and Nora Prokosch, 8-4.

Roanoke also won all six singles matches. The closest decision came in the fifth flight where after losing the first set, 6-3, Guilford's Prokosch pulled out a 6-4 second-set win before McDowell won the tiebreak, 7-1. 

McDowell, Barker, Jennifer Antoszyk, Emily Henderson and Reed Kegel were all two-time winners for the Maroons.

Guilford hosts Lynchburg College Saturday (3/1) in another ODAC contest at the McMichael Centennial Class Courts, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
