SALEM, Va. – Roanoke College pulled out a 5-4 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's tennis win over visiting Guilford College Monday afternoon. Roanoke improves to 8-3 (6-2 ODAC). Guilford ends its regular season with an 8-10 overall record (5-5 ODAC).
The Maroons' Laura Dodson downed Guilford's Mackey Wesner at first singles, 6-1, 6-1, and teamed with Corbin Leitch for an 8-1 first doubles triumph over Wesner and Natalie Sutton. Leitch blanked Sutton at second singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Guilford's Anne Mogavero and Adelaide Ayres teamed for a 9-8 victory at third doubles over Roanoke's Casey Wojtera and Caroline Hunter. Mogavero also won at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-1, over Lauren Marszal.
Guilford opens the ODAC Team Tournament Friday (4/15) against an opponent to be determined.
