Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. (3/27/10) -- Lesley Buckingham scored five goals and an assist in Lynchburg College's 11-9 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's lacrosse win over visiting Guilford College Saturday.
Buckingham scored four times in the first half, which helped the Hornets (7-2, 2-1 ODAC) take a 9-3 halftime lead. She fed Katherine Ollice's goal 6:56 into the second half to give the Hornets a 10-4 lead.
The Quakers rallied in the game's final 15 minutes and scored five of the final six goals. Carrie Ernst scored twice and Summer Frazier netted her third goal with 4:34 left to pull Guilford to within 11-9, but the Quakers could pull no closer. Guilford managed only one shot the rest of the game.
Lynchburg's Morgan Logue scored four points on two goals and two assists. The Hornets had six different goal scorers and outshot Guilford, 29-23. Goalie Christina Tran made seven saves and scooped up a team-high six ground balls.
Frazier and Ernst both scored three goals for the Quakers. Ellie Merritt had two points on a goal and an assist. Goalie Alyzza-May Callahan made eight saves in goal and a game-high seven ground balls.
Guilford returns to action Saturday (4/3) at league-rival Randolph-Macon College.
