Box Score ROANOKE, Va. (3/25/09) - Ellie Merritt (left) scored five goals and an assist in visiting Guilford College's 15-2 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) lacrosse win over Hollins University Wednesday afternoon.
Cait Dimondi scored the game's first goal 40 seconds into the match for Hollins (1-2, 0-1 ODAC), but the Quakers (4-5, 1-2 ODAC) scored the next 14 goals to take a 14-1 halftime lead. Nine different Quakers found the back of the net in their seventh straight win over Hollins, including Carrie Ernst, who had a goal and a game-best four assists for five points. Hannah Merrell also finished with five points on two goals and three helpers. Jordan Sherman scored the first points of her college career with two goals.
Alyzza May-Callahan made four saves in goal for the Quakers. Senior defender Jennifer Abelin contributed an assist, six ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Guilford returns to action Friday at the University of the South at 3:30 p.m (CST).
