Greensboro, N.C. (4/19/08) -- Guilford College's women's lacrosse team tied the school record for wins in a season Saturday with a 16-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference win over visiting Hollins University. Fifteen different Quakers scored for Guilford (9-6, 5-3 ODAC), who matched the record of nine wins in a season set by the 1992 club. The contest marked the regular-season finale for both teams.

Jenn Maynard, one of six seniors honored before playing their final regular-season home game, scored a career-high two goals. Classmate Kelly Gonzalez and sophomore Ellie Merritt both added a goal and three assists. Sophomore Alyzza-May Callahan made two saves before playing the final minutes in the field, where she scored her first college goal.

Pam Cruz scored for Hollins (1-10, 0-8 ODAC).

Guilford opens ODAC Tournament play Wednesday (4/23) at 4:00 p.m. in the Quakers' Armfield Athletic Center against Randolph-Macon College. The Quakers, the tournament's fourth-seed, defeated the fifth seeded Yellowjackets (5-9, 5-3) earlier this season, 13-12, in Ashland, Va.
