Greensboro, N.C. (3/18/08) -- Ellie Merritt scored a career-high four goals in Guilford College's 18-6 women's lacrosse victory at Greensboro College Tuesday afternoon. The Quakers evened their record at 3-3 with their third straight victory. Greensboro falls to 2-6.

Merritt tallied three times in a six-minute span early in the game as the Quakers sprinted to a 7-1 lead. Mary Hutchins scored a goal and had three of her game-high four assists in the opening period as Guilford had a 12-4 lead at halftime.

The Quakers reeled off the first six goals of the second period before the Pride scored the final two goals of the game.

Hutchins finished with a game-high seven points on three goals and four assists. Jordan Clodfelter and Shelly Noguiera also scored three times for the Quakers. Alyzza-May Callahan made five saves in her second straight start and allowed just two goals.

Caroline Young and Toni Battaglia paced the Pride with two goals apiece.

The Quakers return to action March 26 versus visiting Methodist University at 6:00 p.m.
