Box Score Harrisonburg, Va. (1-27-08) - Ben Strong recorded his 12th double-double of the season in Guilford College's 103-75 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's basketball win at Eastern Mennonite University Sunday. Strong tallied 29 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks, all game highs, less than 24 hours after putting up 38 points and 11 boards in Guilford's road win over Bridgewater College.
The victory extended Guilford's (12-4, 7-2 ODAC) winning streak to four and marked the Quakers' eighth win in 10 games. Eastern Mennonite, which lost a 154-146 decision to visiting Emory & Henry College less than 24 hours earlier, dropped to 4-11 (1-8 ODAC) with its 13th straight loss to the Quakers.
Guilford cleared the 100-point plateau for the third time this season thanks to a season-high 59.4 percent shooting effort from the floor. The Quakers blistered the Yoder Arena nets at a 73.5 percent clip in the second half, which kept the Royals from cutting into Guilford's 43-29 halftime lead.
The Quakers' Eric Belkoski made four three-pointers in as many attempts in the second half and finished with 15 points. He scored three trifectas in Guilford's first four possessions of the second half, which highlighted a 20-6 Quakers' burst to start the period. Belkoski's shooting aided Guilford's season-best 56.3 percent three-point shooting percentage.
Clay Henson made eight-of-12 shots, including three-of-four three-pointers, and finished with 19 Guilford points. He also added six assists and five rebounds. Rhett Bonner chipped in 11 points and four assists off the bench.
Jered Lyons' 18 points on six three-pointers paced the Royals. Todd Phillips and D.J. Hinson scored 10 points apiece for the hosts.
