Box Score Emory, Va. (01/19/08) - Senior Ben Strong scored a season-high 39 points and added 15 rebounds and five blocks in visiting Guilford College's 120-112 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win at Emory & Henry College Saturday.
The Quakers (9-4, 4-2 ODAC) are ranked 17th in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll and scored a season-high 120 points in the win.
Guilford led 95-75 with 9:23 left in regulation, only to see the Wasps (4-9, 0-6 ODAC) pull to within 113-109 with 2:09 to play. Emory & Henry's Camillo Weinz made eight of his 11 three-pointers in the second half and scored 26 of his team-best 35 points in the period.
Despite 25 turnovers, the Quakers broke the Wasps' full-court pressure enough to shoot just under 57 percent from the floor. Guilford enjoyed a 65-40 edge on the glass as the Wasps shot 37-for-103 from the floor, including 25-for-78 from three-point range.
Strong's high school teammate, senior Caleb Kimbrough, added a season-high 18 points and five assists for Guilford. George Neville added 15 points and 10 boards off the bench. Eric Belkoski also posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Clay Henson had 14 points, five assists and six rebounds for Guilford.
Robert Hudson converted six three-pointers and scored 22 points for Emory & Henry.
Guilford hosts Roanoke Wednesday (1/23) at 7:00 p.m. in the Ragan-Brown Field House.
