Box Score Greensboro, N.C. (4/14/07) -- Junior attacker Lauren Henson scored three goals and sophomore Kelsi Robinson added two goals and four assists in 15th-ranked Washington and Lee University's 18-3 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) lacrosse win at Guilford College Saturday afternoon. The Generals (9-3, 5-0 ODAC) scored the first nine goals and had 12 different students tally goals in their fourth win in five outings.
Washington and Lee outshot Guilford, 14-6, and forced 19 of the Quakers' 32 turnovers in the first half. Robinson scored her 18th and 19th goals of the season as the Generals claimed an 8-0 halftime advantage. Starting goalie Sarah Tilbor made four saves in a perfect half between the pipes.
After senior midfielder Maggie Megear's second goal gave the Generals a 9-0 edge 16 seconds after halftime, Guilford sophomore Jennifer Abelin got the Quakers on the board with an unassisted goal at the 25:13 mark. Classmate Allison Brown scored a free-position goal just over three minutes later, which made it a 9-2 game.
Washington and Lee called time out after Brown's goal and went on to score the next nine goals. Guilford junior Caryn Washington closed out the scoring with four seconds remaining.
In addition to Henson, Robinson and Megear, sophomore attacker Katie Flippen and senior Mallory Lobisser also scored twice for the Generals. Megear added a game-best seven ground balls. Senior midfielder Kelly Evans scored once and had two assists. Junior defender Kat Michaels caused five turnovers and assisted on senior attacker Avery Lovejoy's fastbreak goal in the first half. Sophomore goalie Ali Hillyard made a game-high six saves in the second period.
Freshman goalie Alyzza-May Callahan made all three of Guilford's saves in the second half. Abelin led the Quakers with four ground balls and caused two turnovers.
The Quakers close the regular season Wednesday against crosstown-rival Greensboro College Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the Armfield Athletic Center. Washington and Lee hosts Hollins Wednesday in a 4:30 p.m. ODAC contest.
