Box Score Sweet Briar, VA (4/7/05) -- Freshman Ellie Donahue scored five goals and two assists to lead Sweet Briar past Guilford, 14-3, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's lacrosse match Wednesday. The Vixens improve to 8-3 overall, 3-1 in the ODAC, with their third straight win. The Quakers drop to 5-6 overall, 2-4 in the league, with their third loss in four games.
"I thought we were more aggressive, which helped us control the tempo of the game. Our defense did a great job and gave us a lot of options," said Sweet Briar coach Missy Ackerman.
Five different Vixens scored in the first half, as Sweet Briar grabbed a 5-1 lead at halftime. Bethany Bressan added three goals and three assists for Sweet Briar. Sophomore goalie Emily Fitzpatrick stopped 14 shots in the game.
Guilford freshman Mary Hutchins scored all three Guilford goals. Freshman goalie Devorah Litt made nine stops.
Sweet Briar is home again Saturday against Washington and Lee at 2 p.m. The Quakers host Randolph-Macon Saturday (4/9) in an ODAC contest.
