Box Score Sophomore attack Moira Foley (Freeport, ME/Freeport) matched Guilford's school record with 10 points in the Quakers' 22-4 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's lacrosse win over visiting Hollins Wednesday. Foley tallied a goal and a school-record nine assists to match Jen Harrison's '91 standard of 10 points set against Hollins in 1990. Her nine assists shattered the previous mark of six, set by Erin McNaught '97 in 1996.
Guilford's 22-goal outburst matched its second-highest single-game total in school history. The Quakers (4-6, 2-4 ODAC) scored 11 goals in each half. A 6-0 run that featured three of Caryn Stone's (N. Potomac, MD/Thomas Sprigg Wootton) team-high five goals finished the first half and broke open a 5-2 contest.
The Quakers scored twice at the start of the second half. Following Amy Fitzwater's (Poolesville, MD/Poolesville) third goal of the game for Hollins (0-6, 0-5 ODAC), Guilford reeled off nine straight goals by eight different players. Hollins freshman Amanda Kaschak (Burke, VA/Lake Craddock) closed the scoring with 1:05 left in the game.
Stone and classmate Kathryn Hyde (Pownal, ME/Waynflete School) scored five goals apiece for Guilford. Stone added five caused turnovers and seven ground balls, both game highs, plus one assist. Quakers' junior Sarah Routhier (N. Yarmouth, ME/Greely) scored four goals and three assists. Senior Lauren Goodwin (Newburyport, MA/Newburyport) contributed two goals and two assists. Sophomore attack Eliza Janney (Lincoln, VA/Loudoun Valley) scored two goals and an assist off the bench. The Quakers return to action April 14 at league-rival Roanoke.
