Box Score Clarence Martin (Reidsville, NC/Reidsville) scored seven points in the final two minutes to lead the Guilford College men's basketball team to a 77-69 win over Lynchburg College Saturday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.
The game was tied at 65 with just over two minutes left to play. Martin had an assist, made a layup, a three-pointer and two free throws down the stretch.
Dedrick Craft (Hurt, VA/Altavista) and Ryan Pehanick (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) each scored 12 points for the Hornets. David Schaffer (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) posted nine points and grabbed seven rebounds. Todd Crown (Midlothian, VA/Clover Hill) had nine points and Andy Albright (Hudson, OH/Hudson) tallied eight points, six rebounds and four assists.
Jevon Clarke (Apex, NC/Southeast Raleigh) and Genaro Lawhorn (Greensboro, NC/Oak Ridge Military Academy) helped the Quakers' cause with 19 points apiece, while having 10 and nine rebounds, respectively. Lawhorn's figures represented career highs, while Clarke notched his first double-double of the season. The Quakers (5-5/2-2 ODAC) outshot the Hornets from the field (44%-38%).
