Game Statistics

Greensboro, NC (01/16/02) -- Senior center Aron McMillian (Greensboro, NC/Greensboro Day) made all eight shots from the floor for a game-high 16 points and classmate Paul Kindem (Chapel Hill, NC/East Chapel Hill) added 15 points and six assists in Guilford's 65-51 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win over visiting Washington and Lee Wednesday night.

The Quakers' (9-6, 6-4 ODAC) third straight win over the Generals (4-10, 2-7 ODAC) gives Guilford its first sweep of the season series with Washington and Lee since 1997-98. Guilford has won four of its last five games.

Washington and Lee whittled a 14-point second-half deficit down to four with 5:49 left in the game, but Guilford responded with nine unanswered points to put the game away. McMillian scored two of his three second-half baskets in the 9-0 run.

McMillian had 10 points and six rebounds in the first half as the Quakers built a 30-23 halftime lead. He left the game with his third foul early in the second half, but two three-pointers by freshman Clarence Martin (Reidsville, NC/Reidsville) and another by Kindem sparked a 9-2 run and gave the Quakers a 39-27 edge with 16:21 remaining.

Guilford's lead grew to 14 before the Generals started chipping into the lead. Two baskets by junior forward Scott Hettermann (Falls Church, VA/London) keyed a 9-2 Generals' burst that trimmed the visitors' deficit to four with 7:38 left.

Washington and Lee senior guard Toussaint Crawford (Laurel, MD/St. Vincent Pallotti) shared game-high scoring honors with 16 points off the bench on six-of-eight shooting. Hettermann finished with 15 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Rookie guard Mike Stuart (Warrenton, VA/Fauquier) added 10 points for the Generals, who dropped their fifth game in six outings.

Guilford senior Brad Woolley (Chapel Hill, NC/East Chapel Hill) scored eight points off the bench, his most since an early season eye injury forced him out of the lineup for five games. Sophomore Josh Connor (Greensboro, NC/Northwest Guilford), the ODAC's top rebounder headed into Wednesday's game, led the Quakers in rebounding for the 10th time with nine caroms. McMillian added eight boards and four blocks.

Guilford hosts Lynchburg Saturday (1/19) in a 2:00 p.m. ODAC tilt, while the Generals host Virginia Wesleyan Sunday (1/20) at 1:00 p.m.
