Misenheimer, NC (04/20/01) – Guilford's women's lacrosse team dropped its final game of the regular season, falling to host Pfeiffer College, 17-2. The Division II Falcons have won five straight games and improves its record to 5-6. Guilford finishes the regular season at 3-13.
Nine Pfeiffer players contributed to scoring for the Falcons. Freshman attack Lindsey Boswell (Friendship, MD) led the team with two goals and five assists. Sophomore attack Kiersten Ferner (Casselberry, FL) made a game high four tallies, helping her team to victory.
After a scoreless first half for the Quakers, freshman attack Kathryn Ragin (Pawleys Island, SC/Hyde School (CT)) scored Guilford's first goal off of an assist from senior defender Abbey Weiner (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park). Junior attack Keli Donnelly (Lafayette Hill, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) scored the Quakers' second goal.
Freshman goaltender Lauren Goodwin (Newburyport, MA/Newburyport) made 11 saves in defeat.
Guilford makes its fifth Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament appearance in six years this Wednesday (4/25) when it visits top-seeded Washington and Lee in a tourney quarterfinal contest at 4:00 PM. The Quakers are seeded eighth.
