Tyler Tingen enters his first year in the role of Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant, after being hired to the position in August 2025.

An Old Dominion Athletic Conference alumnus, Tyler Tingen graduated in the summer of 2025 from Roanoke College with a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science with two minors in Spanish and Sports Analytics. He was a part of the Roanoke Men's Golf program all four years in Salem, helping lead the Maroons to success through his leadership and mentorship of younger players and in pushing his teammates to success on and off the course. Tingen served as a team representative on the RC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and volunteered in many events run by both Maroons Athletics and the ODAC. He was a Sports Information Student Assistant and a Sports Analytics Intern with Roanoke Athletics. Since his freshman year as a Maroon, he worked with many student athletes, coaches, and front office staff members in making the Maroons Athletics experience grand through media production and analytics. He took his role at Roanoke to greater heights as he worked in many ODAC playoff and championship events in several sports involving media broadcasts and statistical production. Tyler also worked in the 2024 NCAA DIII Women's Lacrosse and Women’s Volleyball Championships as well as the 2025 NCAA DIII Women’s Basketball and Men’s Volleyball National Championships hosted at Roanoke.

Off the course, Tingen was an active member of the Roanoke College community, participating in several volunteering and research projects through the Xi Theta Chi Foreign Language Honors Society and the Research Fellowship Program at Roanoke College. For his contributions as a student, campus community member, and athlete, Tingen was the 2025 recipient of the Paul W. Rice Award as Roanoke’s senior student who made the most significant impact on campus life.
