Ray Babnik enters his first season as Head Football Athletic Trainer under Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, and fourth season total at Guilford, returning to Greensboro in the spring of 2026.
Babnik spent a year at Elon University during 2025, serving as the head football athletic trainer for the Phoenix as well as the Director of sports medicine during the fall of 2025. His stint across the state came after a three-year run as the Quakers Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine from 2022-2025. Babnik also spent time as an Athletic Trainer and Clinical Assistant at Murphy Wainer Orthopedics in Greensboro, as well as the Head Athletic Trainer across town for Greensboro College, where he was for six years. Before being named Head athletic trainer in 2015 he was the assistant athletic trainer at Greensboro College as the head football ATC.
He has also been the Head Athletic Trainer for the Carolina Cobras, the National Arena League football team in Greensboro 2018-2021.
Babnik graduated from SUNY Cortland with a bachelor of science in athletic training in 2011 before continuing his education with the Red Dragons, earning a master of science degree in community health in 2013.
Babnik currently resides in Greensboro with his wife Megan and daughters Olivia and Madison.
