Dylan Neisler enters his first season as the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Guilford College in 2025 after being hired into the role in July of 2025.
Neisler spent the last three seasons building up the still burgeoning men’s lacrosse program at SUNY New Paltz, competing in the difficult SUNYAC. Serving as just the second head coach in the team’s six-year history, he elevated the Hawks to previously unseen heights. Standing with a mere five cumulative wins over their first three years of existence, New Paltz matched or eclipsed that total in each of Neisler’s three seasons at the helm. His top year with the Hawks came in 2023 when they accomplished several program-firsts with their initial winning season overall, at 8-7, winning record in conference play, at 4-3, and first SUNYAC Tournament berth, making the Semifinals round although they were swiftly bounced by the eventual conference champions, SUNY Geneseo. Individually, a pair of Hawks cracked the All-SUNYAC team that season, standing as the first two selections in program history and they were later joined by a third all-conference pick in 2025. The winningest coach in the brief history of the SUNY New Paltz men’s lacrosse team, Neisler went 19-28 in his time in New York, including 8-13 in league play. In the classroom, the Hawks men’s lacrosse program posted a team GPA of 3.0 or better in six of the seven semesters during which he was the head coach.
Cutting his teeth in the collegiate head coaching ranks as the Interim Head Coach of a reputable program at The College of Wooster in 2022, Neisler guided a very young Fighting Scots squad to a 6-10 mark, missing the NCAC Tournament by just a single game despite being named into the role in February of that year. He also spent the 2021 season with the program serving as Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator with Wooster, overseeing an offense that notched the program’s top scoring campaign in a decade and ranked 53rd nationally by netting 14.18 goals per game. His biggest accomplishments during his time in Ohio came on the recruiting trail, where he identified and recruited a trio of future USILA All-American Honorable Mentions, with their 2023 selection, Casey Steffen, becoming the first Fighting Scot to be honored since 2010, and just the second two-time honoree in program history when he was also recognized in 2024.
Neisler’s initial full-time coaching role was back at SUNY New Paltz where he was the Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach and Defensive Coordinator during the program’s inaugural season in 2020.
Spending the 2018-19 academic year as a graduate assistant coach at NAIA Concordia- Ann Arbor, Neisler received his Master’s Degree in Sports and Entertainment Business.
A member of the class of 2018 at Lincoln Memorial University, Neisler earned his degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Strength and Conditioning. Competing during his college career at the Division-II level with LMU in Tennessee, he was a four-year starter, cracking the starting lineup in all 59 career games, good for the most starts in program history. He also ranks within the top-ten in the program record books for career points, slotting sixth with 103, career goals, tied for fifth with 72, and career assists, tied for eighth with 31, among other statistics.
