Adam Crawford

Adam Crawford was named the Quakers’ head men's golf coach in August 2018. During his first season, he led the Quakers to a second-place Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) finish and a third-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championship. Crawford guided James Mishoe '20, Josh Hill '19, and Addison Manring '21 to NCAA Division III PING All-America selections, and Mishoe was also named ODAC Men's Golf Player of the Year and to the 2019 All-Nicklaus Team presented by Barbasol.

Crawford enjoyed his first ODAC top coaching honor in his third season (2020-21) guiding the Quakers program. Guilford captured its ODAC-best 18th championship trophy at Bryan Park Golf & Conference Center, marking its first conference title since earning back-to-back crowns in 2017 and 2018. The Quakers enter the 2021 NCAA Division III Championships as the second ranked team in the country by Golfstat. They trail only Methodist University on a list that features a top-five composed of all South Region schools.

In 2019-20, the Quakers were well on their way to another successful run towards the ODAC tournament but the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mishoe was named the ODAC Men's Golfer Player of the Year for the second consecutive season to go with PING All-America First Team honors. Mishoe also earned All-ODAC First Team accolades, while Zach Evens '20 and Manring '21 were named to the second team, and Jack Lee '21 picked up a third-team honor.

Crawford led the team to its first O'Briant-Jensen Memorial Tournament victory since 2011. The Quakers shot an even-par 287-281-568 over 36 holes which was the second-lowest 36-hole team total in the tournament's 41-year history and missed the record of 565 set by Huntingdon College in 2016. The team also started the 2018-19 season with a win at the Greene Turtle Invitational.

He arrived at Guilford after holding a similar position at Old Dominion Athletic Conference-rival Ferrum College. Crawford led the Panthers from 2010-18 and compiled a 474-416-6 record. Under his guidance, Ferrum rose more than 100 spots in the Golfstat.com NCAA Division III statistical rankings. The Panthers won seven tournaments in his tenure, after collecting 11 in the program’s prior 21 years.

Under Crawford's tutelage, Ferrum produced two Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Americans, one GCAA All America Scholar, one VaSID All-State honoree, and four All USA South performers, including the school's first four-time honoree. His students earned five medalist honors over his seven years leading the team. Crawford also had 10 academic all-conference selections.

The 2017-18 year was Crawford's finest coaching the Panthers. The team produced several statistical school records: team stroke average; individual stroke average (Lance Keiser); 18-hole individual 64 (-8) & 36 hole-individual 132 (-12). Keiser set the individual marks and was named first-team all-conference, all-region, and an honorable mention All-American. He was one of six individuals selected to compete in the 2018 NCAA Championships.

Crawford graduated magna cum laude from Ferrum in 2007 with a degree in sport management. He lettered four years for the Panthers’ golf team, earned academic all-conference honors all four years, and earned a spot on the USA South’s 50th Anniversary Team.

A holder of a Class A membership from the Professional Golf Association (PGA), Crawford completed its PGA PGM course in just two years. He is a member of the GCAA, the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), and is registered at level one with Titlist Performance Institute. Prior to joining Ferrum, Crawford was an assistant golf professional for the Auburn Hills Golf Club in Riner, Virginia, from 2007 to 2010.
