INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Evan Mendyk (Summerfield, N.C.) has been selected to represent the Guilford College golf team as an individual invitee competing at the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship on May 20-23 at Midvale Country Club, in Penfield, New York, as announced by the NCAA on Monday evening.
While the Quakers as a team did not make the cut as one of the two Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) squads to receive an invite, the No. 25 nationally ranked individual golfer in the nation per Scoreboard, by Clippd, Mendyk, did snare one of the ten coveted individual invitations.
Peaking with solo rank of No. 11 earlier in the spring riding a superb, wire-to-wire season, he becomes the second-straight individual Quaker to garner an invite after teammate
James Alden (East Northport, N.Y.) competed in Las Vegas last season. Owner of two top-five finishes and a third top-ten event in his final season, Mendyk has consistently been one of the better golfers in both the loaded Region IV, and the nation as a whole. Owning a 72.4 round average that sits right around par, he has posted rounds at-or-below par in nearly half of his 25 total trips through the course, with 12 total rounds with a score of 72-or-under. Undeterred by an underwhelming second and third day at the ODAC Championship meet, the All-ODAC First Team selection will be joined by the full squads from conference champions, University of Lynchburg as well as Washington & Lee University in addition to Averett's Killian O'Reilly representing the ODAC in New York.
