A Perfect Day for Women’s Tennis, Sweeping Hollins in ODAC Play

Marks third conference win, first time reaching said mark since the 2021-22 season

ROANOKE, Va. -- After being dealt a sweep at the hands of Sweet Briar the previous weekend, the women's tennis team looked to reassert themselves in conference play at Hollins. They reversed their previous result, sweeping their opponents in swift fashion, 9-0.

With the win, GC moves to 6-5, and 3-2 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play. Hollins remains winless at 0-6, with the same record against conference opponents.

In the doubles slate, the Quakers quickly asserted themselves, winning at all courts without dropping a single game. Singles play was slightly altered, as a change at no.1 singles shifted everyone else up a spot. Freshman Brie Chisholm (Greensboro, N.C.) got the start at no. 6, and took care of business, dropping just one game in her victory. Three players achieved 6-0, 6-0 margins in singles play, including no. 1 Jolie Nhouyvanisvong (Greensboro, N.C.), no. 2 Kancie Tate (Mount Airy, N.C.) and no. 5 Bethany Lupo (Tabor City, N.C.).

Next up, the Quakers welcome Randolph-Macon to the McMichael Courts in Greensboro for a mid-week conference matchup. Start time for doubles on Wednesday, April 3 is set for 4:00 p.m.
