The Guilford College men's lacrosse team traveled to north to battle the Averett University Cougars. The Quakers picked up the road win, 21-5.
In the opening period, Averett scored the first goal at 11:02 mark. From there, Guilford took over as it scored six-straight goals that carried into the second period.
Gabe Alvarez led the way with three goals during the stretch.
The Cougars scored its second goal of the contest before the Quakers netted the final three goals with two from
Devin Morse. At the half, Guilford led 9-2.
In the third, the two teams exchanged goals before GC went on another run of six-consecutive goals to lead 16-3.
The fourth was similar to the other periods ad Guilford outscored the hosts 5-2 to secure the 16-goal victory.
Morse finished the evening with seven goals while Alvarez and
Andrew Burch each totaled five points.
Gavin Dellinger picked up the win in net for the Quakers.
Guilford will host Shenandoah University on Saturday, April 8 at Armfield Athletic Center. Faceoff is at 1:00 p.m.
