FINAL RESULTS
Entering the final 18 holes of the ODAC Championship, the Guilford College men's golf team looked secure the title. The Quakers held off the field to win by five strokes for their 19th championship in the conference.
Leading the way for Guilford was
Sam Davidson as he entered the final round down by two on the individual side. The junior from Asheboro, N.C. shot his second-straight 69 to finish 11-under and claim the individual medalist title.
Michael Vick carded a 76 in the final round and finished fourth overall with a 54-hole total of 216, even par.
Parker Cumbea ended the day with a 74 to go 8-over and finish tied for 14th.
James Alden had the second-best round of the day for the Quakers with an even-par, 72.
Evan Mendyk completed the top five with an 18-hole score of 77. Alden finished tied for 17th while Mendyk was tied for 25th.
After all the playing was done, the ODAC announced its All-ODAC awards. Vick was named ODAC Golfer of the Year while head coach
Adam Crawford was honored as the Jack Jensen Coach of the Year.
Vick and Davidson were named All-ODAC First Team. Alden and Mendyk were honored as All-ODAC Second Team while Cumbea was listed as All-ODAC Third Team.
With winning the conference championship, Guilford has earned the automatic qualifier for the NCAA Championship. The Quakers will head to Lexington, Kentucky from Tuesday, May 16 through Friday, May 19 for the tournament held at Keene Trace.
