The Guilford College men's lacrosse team looked to get back on track as it traveled to Methodist University. The Quakers captured the early lead and held on for the 11-6 win.
It was Methodist that scored first, just 28 seconds into the period. After this, it was all Guilford.
The Quakers scored five-straight goals including two goals from
Gavin Brown and
Devin Morse. The Monarchs scored the final goal of the period but trailed 5-2.
Devin Morse netted the lone goal of the second as
Joe Hirvonen picked up an assist. At the half, GC led 6-2.
In the third, both sides exchanged goals as they were evenly matched. Going to the final 15 minutes of regulation, the visitors led 9-5.
The Quakers scored two of the three goals as
Gabe Alvarez and
Gavin Brown found the back of the next to secure the five-goal win.
Morse led the team with five points (3G, 2A) while Alvarez and Brown each finished with four points.
Gavin Dellinger played all 60 minutes in net, making 10 saves in the win.
Guilford remains on the road as it travels to Brevard College on Tuesday, March 7. Start time is set for 2:00 p.m.
