The Guilford College women's tennis team hosted the Sweet Briar College Vixen on Sunday afternoon. The Quakers fell to the visitors, 9-0.
In doubles, No. 1 (
Madyson Schreiber/
Hannah Pardue) and No. 2 (
Jolie Nhouyvanisvong/
Bea Niyibizi) fell by the score of 8-0.
Nya Reed and
Alys Parker (No. 3) fell by the score of 8-3.
Schreiber and Nhouyvanisvong both fell in singles by the scores of 6-1 and 6-0. Niyibizi and Reed dropped in straight sets, 6-0. Pardue (No. 2) and
Jessica Fuentes (No. 6) lost in their matches 6-1 and 6-1, and 6-1, 6-2, respectively.
Prior to the match, the team honored its four seniors: Fuentes, Niyibizi, Parker and Schreiber.
Guilford (3-8, 3-5) will conclude the regular season on Thursday, April 28 against Washington and Lee University. Start time is 4:00 p.m.
