GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Guilford's Carmen Curtis lowered her own school 100-meter dash record for the third straight meet Saturday at the conclusion of the two-day Aggie Invitational. Curtis' school record highlighted the Quakers' performance at the non-scoring meet comprised largely of NCAA Division I and Division II institutions.
Curtis ran the sprint in 13.07 seconds, good for 17th in the 28-runner field. She set the previous mark of 13.25 seconds at the VertKlasse Meeting April 6.
Teammate Sommer Fanney ran the fourth-best 800-meter time in Guilford history Friday. Her time of two minutes, 29.32 seconds ranked 20th in the 30-team field.
The Quakers' third female competitor in the meet was Erica Chandler, who turned in a wind-aided 30.70 in the 200-meter dash, which placed 66th in the race.
Coach Marla Lindsay's Quakers return to action Friday (4/20) at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships in Bridgewater, Virginia.
