GREENSBORO, N.C. - Shenandoah University's Emily Yergin tallied three goals and one assist as Guilford College dropped a Saturday evening Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest to Shenandoah, 6-0.
Shenandoah (9-2, 3-0 ODAC) used a 13:12 stretch in the middle of the first half to produce all of their offense in the period. Yergin totaled a goal and two assists in the period as she scored in the 22nd minute, dribbling through the middle of the box for the third goal of the period. Yergin collected an assist along with Averi Rosena on the Kelsie Luddington goal in the 24th minute off one-touch passes in the box. The Hornets used four different goal-scorers in the period as six different players collected points in the first half.
Yergin tallied both second-half goals, collecting both in a 3:03 span of the second half. Yergin scored her first goal off of a 30-yard pass into the box from Alysha McCleaf in the 54th minute. Yergin scored the second goal off a blocked shot in the middle of the box in the 57th minute to complete her seven-point evening.
The Hornets out-shot the Quakers, 21-4, and held the only corner kick of the contest.
Cheyenne Grim (3-2) made three saves in net for the Quakers. Maggie Albert relieved her for the final third of the contest, stopping one shot. Erin Septer made two saves in net for Shenandoah before being relieved by Charlotte Eavns for the final 4:37 of the contest.
The Quakers (4-3, 1-1 ODAC) take to the road Wednesday, traveling to Sweet Briar College for 4 p.m. ODAC contest.
