Guilford Stops Eastern Mennonite, 2-0

Guilford Women's Soccer Seniors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Katie Oliver and Jaclyn Nucci scored in Guilford College's 2-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) soccer win over visiting Eastern Mennonite University Saturday afternoon.

The Quakers (10-7-2, 5-4-2 ODAC) wrapped up their best regular season since 2006 with their 10th win of the year

Oliver got Guilford on the board in the 21st minute when she collected a loose ball inside the six-yard box and banged it home for her third goal of the season. The Quakers carried the 1-0 lead into the second half as Eastern Mennonite goalie Michelle Miller kept Guilford at bay with six of her 14 saves.

Nucci added an insurance tally in the 53rd minute when she headed in a Bri Eilman corner kick for her fifth goal of the year.

Guilford controlled possession for most of the game and outshot the Royals (2-15, 2-8 ODAC) by a 24-3 margin.

Quakers' netminder Amy Baker made two saves for her third shutout of the year.

Guilford awaits the seedings for the ODAC Tournament, which begins Oct. 29.
